Mission Statement:

The Norwell Police Department Natural Resources Unit exists to protect, preserve, promote and manage the natural resources, waters and wild animal resources of the Towns of Cohasset and Norwell and ensures the public safety for all residents and visitors alike that utilize these resources year-round, through education and enforcement of local, state and federal environmental, maritime and domestic animal laws.

Natural Resources Officer Josh Kimball serves as our regional Natural Resources Officer (NRO). He handles calls for service in Cohasset and Norwell. NRO Kimball falls under the department’s Special Operations Division and works closely with the Massachusetts Environmental Police, neighboring Police Department Marine Units, the MSPCA, New England Wildlife Center, Animal Rescue League of Boston, and the Cohasset and Norwell Boards of Health as well as the Cohasset and Norwell Conservation Commissions in order to promote and ensure public health and safety as well as environmental protection. Officer Kimball is also a sworn Cohasset and Norwell Police Officer with full police authority in both Towns.

Officer Kimball generally works Monday – Friday 8AM-4PM, however hours could vary.
