What requires an application with Conservation? Do I need to go before Conservation?

If your project is near or within 100 feet of most wetland resource areas (marshy areas, stream channels in the woods, small ponds, salt marshes, wetlands, vernal pools to name a few) or within 200 feet of a stream that flows year round, you are required to check with the Conservation office prior to starting work.  If you are not sure, the Conservation Agent has access to statewide wetland GIS (geographical information system) data and can help create a guidance map for your lot and give you direction on what may be needed.   GIS maps can also be created showing nearby town trails, open spaces and other resident amenities.
